Tell me about how the sizing works?
Our sizes cover all shapes and leg lengths and are unisex fittings. At the moment, we are having production issues which should be ironed out by the end of July. Currently the sizing is seperate for each fabric, so you need to look carefully at the sizings listed for each fabric. Broadly, the following should help:
Extra Small is roughly equivalent to UK women's 8-10
Small is roughly equivalent to UK women's 10-12
Medium is roughly equivalent to UK women's 12-14
Large is roughly equivalent to UK women's 14-16
Extra Large is roughly equivalent to UK women's 18-20
They all have elastic at the back, and drawstring at the front for the perfect fit. The leg length can be hemmed to your required length, up to 34" inside leg. The Extra Long Legs section allows hemming up to 38"/97cm inside leg.
Tell me about the fabrics?
The fabrics are all natural cotton and printed in India using vegetable dyes. Sometimes there are a few small ink splodges or other printing errors that prove they are hand printed by real people and not machines! We think this really adds to the charm of the designs. We're all about slow fashion and sustainable materials. The pajamas are cut out on my kitchen table, and sewn up by a team of ladies who live locally. Everything is posted in recycled or recycleable packaging. We even use paper tape not plastic!
We use all the scraps we can to make the gifts and accessories you can find across the site. Any pieces too small to use are kept in bundles and donated to charities who sell the scraps by weight.
What's with the free gift?
Everyone loves a freebie, and our lavender bags that come with every purchase are our way of thanking you for your order. The bags use up some of the scrap material, and when tucked into your pillowcase, the scent will help you to have the perfect night's sleep in your new pajama pants!
Have you got any more of the (any fabric pattern) in stock? The one I want says it's sold out.
No, sadly not. It looks like you missed out on those. We buy ends of rolls that would otherwise be scrapped, so there is usually only enough fabric to make 10 pairs in each fabric. When they're gone, they're gone! Occasionally we might buy the fabric again, but there is no guarantee and it's usually in a different colour way. Don't worry...there will be something else just as lovely in a day or two! Keep an eye on the site, or better still, sign up to get exclusive notice of each new fabric drop and never miss out again!
Have you got a shop somewhere?
We're online only, which helps to keep the prices as low as we can! We will be at various fairs and pop ups around the country, so sign up to the website to find out when and where.
Do you make pajama pants for children?
At the moment we're only offering five sizes. The smallest size will fit children from about 12 yrs and up.
Why don't you offer matching tops?
We DO!, but only as long as stocks last. Pajama pantry is very much a kitchen table business. Pajama tops require quite a lot more time (and fabric) to make and would push the price up too high. We also feel that this would make them specifically night wear, and our Pajama Pants can be worn everywhere, not just in bed!
We do now have fabulous Pajama Pantry TIGER t shirts, printed to order to avoid waste. You can order one in any size, mens or women's cut. We can even do them for children if you know anyone who loves a tiger as much as we do! They are made in India from 100% organic cotton, and printed in the UK in a renewable energy-powered factory. What's more, once you're done with your t shirt (as if!) you can send it back to the factory to be recycled, and they'll give you a factory credit. What's not to like?
